No official news from the western battlefield has been received since yesterday. Vienna dispatch says Archduke Frederick of Austria, commander of Austrian forces, declared in army orders that a new and great victory is imminent in the German western camp.

The funeral of Jack Slaton Hardeman fourteen months old son of Mr and Mrs W L Hardeman grandson of Mr J R P Thompson was held at the Methodist church Colbert Ga this morning at 11 with Rev T Marvin Sullivan and Rev Willie M Saye officiating. A large congregation attended and the interment followed at Colbert cemetery.
The Athens Presbytery adjourned its semi annual session meeting in Ila Madison County Ga with Rev S Wilds DuBose of Jefferson the retiring moderator preaching on The Greatness of Salvation The session organized naming Rev J2 Peeve Smith of Ila moderator Rev S W DuBose named commissioner to the general assembly Rev Shields spoke on missions Charles A Rowland spoke on missionary work Dr Hill delivered a sermon on The Day of Atonement. Two preachers McPhat and McCord announced moves to new posts within the presbytery and Augusta and Commerce.
All Master Masons in the city and surrounding area are invited to a social session of Dorsey Lodge No 32 Masons Annuity at the Masonic Hall Friday night October 2nd. A high degree Mason from Atlanta will present a feature program with local speakers and refreshments to follow.
