New Baptist Church Planned for Athens
A meeting Sunday at 11 30 a new Baptist church for Athens was agreed upon by about seventy members and leaders including W C Wingfield D W McGregor J L Pendley and J H Mapp. Plans were not finalized but are to be developed later with hopes for a large membership and regional growth. A children and youth meeting and a strong choir performance under the Dougherty street tent drew a large crowd despite other attractions.
