A refined couple seeks two or three rooms for light housekeeping and asks applicants to contact Banner at Address F. The notice mentions Davison-Nicholson Co and calls for two or three workers in a brief employment search.

Mr H L Shellnutt formerly of High Shoals has joined the Georgia National Bank in Athens. He and his family have moved to the city where residents will extend a cordial welcome. Previously with the High Shoals Manufacturing Co he moved after entering banking service.
The University of Georgia will reopen in January with normal conditions as student bodies return. Acting District Educational Director P H Doggett notes S A T C units will be established and academic work will resume with limited wartime courses.
The Banner presents the annual report of the Banner's Commissary trustees who distribute charity to reach all deserving in the city and curb beggars. The fund, now a permanent institution, has guided aid to those in need and referred beggars to officers for proper relief. Trustees C D Flanigen W G Griffeth J F Tibbetts E R Hodgson Jr H J Rowe H H Gordon Jr O R Dobbs oversee careful disbursement and bank balance for winter needs.
A 1918 appeal from the Trustees of Banner's Christmas Commissary in Athens Georgia calls on citizens to donate funds to aid the poor. It notes winter expenditures of 3457.94 dollars and 789.14 dollars on deposit, urging subscriptions via Hugh H. Gordon Jr. at the Commercial Bank. The message stresses gratitude on Thanksgiving and the nonprofit’s continued need to help the less fortunate.
The November 22 1918 statement lists total resources at 197 135 187 11 with gold reserves and earning assets totaling 88 778 930 18. Liabilities total 197 135 137 11 including government deposits member and non member due accounts and Federal Reserve notes in circulation.
A short note promises that a beautiful woman has good digestion and recommends nightly meals of meat and occasional Chamberlain's Tablets to strengthen digestion. Price 35c.

Mrs. J D Ellington dies in Jefferson after influenza developed pneumonia. Siblings G A Storey and J M Storey regret her death. Funeral planned in Jefferson on Monday morning.
