Extra Vaudeville at the Lyric in Athens

Gainesville Midland railway announces the resignation of manager E R Eppes effective January. Capt W B Denham, president of the Tampa Northern railway, will become general manager and relocate to Gainesville. Eppes will move to Knoxville to head a coal house and leave railroad work. Denhaminspects line and plans major equipment upgrades and a force reorganization.

Streetcar Buggy Crash on Thomas Street Ends Without Injuries
A glass window shattered when a horse and buggy backed onto a streetcar track on Thomas street. The child remained unharmed despite the buggy crashing into the Manhattan Hat Co. causing glass to shatter. The driver, Harris the cashier of Athens Savings Bank, left the horse and buggy briefly, and a passerby assisted the child who was alone in the buggy.

Young Negro Girl Hit by Automobile on Prince Avenue
A fifteen year old Negro girl was struck by a car driven by Ralph Hodgson in front of the county courthouse on Prince Avenue. She was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with bruises but no bones broken and no serious injuries.

Primary election yields clear alderman wins in most wards
The city held a quiet primary with no opposition in all wards except the First. A. H. Richards led the First Ward with 144 votes to QO. F. Buchner’s 59. Richards, a house and sign painter, won by 85. Dr. H. R. Palmer, Dr. L. N. Betts, and E. H. Youngkin were elected in the Second, Third, and Fourth wards without opposition.
