Negro Man Nearly Hundred Years Old Found Dead in Field
Tom Tyler an old time darky near a hundred years old and an inmate of the county poor farm was found dead in a corn field on Empire State Chemical Company property near the city. He had been missing since Sunday night after leaving the county farm. Henry Simpson reported the discovery to authorities. The coroner’s inquest returned death from natural causes, noting he had been dead several days, likely since Sunday night.
