Nashville Tenn Nov 13 ex sheriff of Davidson County John D Sharp is arrested on a murder warrant connected to the killing of former Senator Edward Carmack. He says he is absolutely innocent and has no statement for publication beyond that claim. Sheriff Sam H Borum served the warrant and Sharp was jailed with Duncan B Cooper in custody.
Mrs. M. W. Philips of Augusta aged about 60 was fatally hurt in a runaway on Woodlawn avenue. Driving alone in an open buggy, the horse Norse bolted shattering the shaft. She was thrown and her skull crushed, remaining unconscious at a late hour. Her husband and two children are her immediate family.
