Troop Artillery Association formed by Confederate survivors
Surviving members of the Troup Artillery organized The Troop Artillery Association at Atena with H H Carlton C W Motes leading as president and vice president. About 50 to 55 survivors remain from the original 69 muster rolls, with aims to preserve records and memories, maintain a roster, and honor Confederate history with mutual aid and proper funeral rites. The group set monthly meetings on the last Saturday at 11 a.m. and an annual meeting April 24. Also includes a testimonial for Chamberlains Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy by H R Phelps.
