Seaboard Air Line offers round trip tickets to Atlanta for one dollar starting May 28. Tickets at this price are on sale every Sunday through and including September 10.
Mr Will Peek has spent the week in Atlanta attending the annual meeting of the sales force for King Hardware Company. He will return tonight after a brilliant banquet at the Piedmont Hotel where his speech was a highlight, and a photograph of the banquet party was taken by the Journal.

Professor E. P. Clark, formerly of Athens, selected as president of Rheinhardt College after Prof. Ramsey Sharp resigns. Clark held five years at University of Georgia and led Oconee Street Methodist Sunday school. He earned a B S and A M from the State University at Athens and brings a record of professional success.
The North Georgia Conference announces district meetings for Methodist churches. Locations include Augusta Warrenton June 21 22 23 Malton Calhoun June 12 14 Gainesville Lawrenceville June 6 7 Griffin Culloden June 12 13 14 La Grange Bowden June 14 15 16 Rome Temple June 7 8 9 and Oxford Monticello June 19 20 with sessions in each district.
A Thursday morning fire began above Mr. J. Davis’s store where a candy kitchen on the second floor near a gas stove sparked the flames. Davis does not occupy the second floor. the blaze originated upstairs over his shop.
At Comer yesterday the Royal Arch Masons hosted a large barbecue with hundreds of Masons and friends attending. Several from Athens were present.

Dr Bell Pine Tar Honey marketed for children's coughs and colds.
National league results with Cincinnati over Chicago five to four and a 11 inning St. Louis win over Pittsburgh. American league notes include Washington over Philadelphia and a two game New York sweep of Boston in extras. Southern and South Atlantic results listed. reader Anna Hawn from Cedar Grove, Missouri praises Foley Cathartic Tablets for liver relief.
Mr Mose Buchwald has returned to the city after several months away and has accepted a position with Mr Phillip Abelman. He has many friends in the area who will be glad to learn of his return and his association with the well known establishment of P Abelman.
Mr. D. Weaver Bridges is home from Meridian Mississippi college for a brief vacation before heading to Pennsylvania for YMCA work. He will return to Meridian next fall and has served as hospital steward and head of the infirmary while studying.
Special to the Banner. Washington May 26 Talcott Williams of Columbia University defends the League to Enforce Peace program at the first annual national assembly. He argues Washington’s warning against entangling alliances does not apply to a modern world where a few great powers control destinies and a collective security pact could deter war.
A colored man named Will Jones was arrested on a charge of being crazy. He admitted the accusation and said his mind has been affected at times for weeks. Regular services at First Methodist Church are announced with Rev. J. C. Morris preaching at 11 15 a.m. and 8 30 p.m.
