The city board of education approves school hours by grade and adds ten grades, tightens vaccination certificates, revises tardy rules, bans false or profane language and tobacco on campus, requires teachers to arrive early, and outlines leave and substitute pay. Superintendent Bond to serve a three year term.
Lemon City resident C B Wainwright writes to manufacturers claiming rapid relief from stomach colic and cholera morbus using Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy mixed in hot water. He reports instant targeting of the pain. Product sold by H R Palmer Sons and W J Smith Bros. The notice also lists the Southern Mutual Insurance Company policyholders meeting at Athens office on Tuesday February 5 1905 at 11 am with secretary.
The Athens city board approves a futureimed plan for high school departments in the eighth through tenth grades at Washington Street school and possibly Baxter Street, with teachers selecting departments and classes meeting under the new provision rather than by class. The board believes the experiment, used in other cities, will benefit students and prove successful locally.
The Georgia Pharmaceutical Association nominated five candidates for the State Board of Pharmacy. From Athens to Milledgeville and Savannah, the slate includes J E Kidd D C Jordan McD Hodges R C Wilson and W H Mashburn. The governor will appoint one member to fill any vacancy. The process proceeded without controversy.
The board of trustees meets this morning at eleven at the Normal School to elect the faculty fix salaries and set the course of study. Plans for new buildings and class activities are on the agenda with eighty five graduates. The Junior Class presents The Coronation of the Rose tonight at the auditorium. The baccalaureate sermon Sunday by Rev Joseph J Bennett and Dr Wycliff Rose will deliver addresses Monday with diplomas awarded.

Yesterday morning ten month old Lona Jeannette Fuller, daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Fuller, died after a brief illness at Baldwin street home. The Infant son of Mr and Mrs Allgood died yesterday morning at their city home. Interment will be in Oconee cemetery today. Friends extend deepest sympathies to the grieving parents.
