Athens Considers Bonds for University of Georgia and City School

Georgia Odd Fellows Adjourn Convention

The Grand Lodge of Georgia Odd Fellows adjourned to meet in Macon next year after a busy session. They approved relief for widows and orphans, set aside funds for the Georgia Industrial Home in Macon, and left some financial questions to the Grand Master. Grand officers were installed and new appointments announced. The state assembly of Rebekahs closed its term to meet in Macon next May with appointed officers.

Athens Preparations for Mayors Convention Downtown

Allo of Athens plans the mayors convention convening next Tuesday morning with ex mayors in charge of a barbecue on Tuesday. Elks appoint a committee on entertainment and invite visitors to make the Elks Home their headquarters during the stay. Business leaders urged to clean and decorate stores by Monday night to present Athens in its finest holiday dress for the event. The aim is a successful convention and advancement of Greater Athens.

Centennial Celebration of Agricultural College Program

Dr White of the State College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts will participate in the centennial celebration to be held May 26 to 31. The event includes a baccalaureate sermon by Rev Matthew H Buckant, meetings of the American Association of Agricultural Colleges and Experiment Stations, lectures by eminent persons, and an address by President Roosevelt. Dr White will represent The South. The Agriculture Department program features Hon James Wilson Fry and Michigan University President James Burrill Angell.
