Merchant slain in Atlanta as deputy marshal shoots during levy
Special to the Banner reports Thomas H. English a merchant at 430 Marietta street was shot and killed by J. M. George, a deputy marshal, in the municipal court when George went to seize a cash register. After an altercation English allegedly drew a gun but George fired first. George has been released on bond.

Henderson Heads Red and Black Baseball Team Leader
First Baseman John Henderson was yesterday elected captain of the Red and Black baseball team for next season by his teammates. The ceremony followed a barbecue at the Mc Whorter grove hosted by Bob. Henderson has two Georgia seasons on his record and also plays football. He led the Georgia batters last season and is known as a steady, popular player who should lead Bean's boys next year.
