Young man fined for stealing automobile in Athens
R L Robertson was found guilty of stealing an automobile owned by W J Hancock of Bishop Ga from the streets of Athens. He received a $200 fine and costs or twelve months on the county chain gang. He claimed he paid a black man $15 for the loan and that the car would be returned. He said he was raised in Hall county and would serve a year on the Clarke county gang rather than inform his relatives.
