Atlanta date May 11 the Western and Atlantic Railroad is leased to the Nashville Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway from December 27 1919 to December 27 1969. The lessee will pay $45 000 at start and $33 093.60 monthly in advance. The lease excludes two Chattanooga properties and requires $60 000 annual improvements with any unspent sums returned to the state. The state may later sell the two properties valued at 175 000 to 200 000 to fund debt repayment.

Jim Harris was arrested yesterday morning by Athens police on a chicken stealing charge. The colored man who cooked at a local cafe allegedly wrung necks of chickens and rang the birds out the back door to reclaim them after work. Ben Favors, colored, of Oglethorpe, also arrested on a warrant charging misdemeanor. The note ends with an ad offering the Boston Cafe for sale at 896 College Ave. by H. N.
