Two Jersey Calves Prize Offered by Garden Club Members
Two full blood Jersey calves are offered as prizes by two Athens Garden Club members. The club met at 11 am in the YWCA parlors to discuss roses and the autumn contests. Premium lists for vegetables and flowers are nearly finished with plans for a public fall show combining chrysanthemum and vegetable displays. A bulb show and a rose show are planned at the same venue, with a date to be announced in the Banner depending on weather. The Rose Show Committee is led by Mrs. E. L. Griggs and includes ten other members.

Gideons Plan Athens Bible Campaign Meet in Athens
A letter from C. H. Burge president of the Atlanta Gideons announces a delegation arriving in Athens on May 10 and 11 to organize a Gideon camp at the Y M C A. The group will include C W Hatcher Captain W H Phelps and Charlie Tillman the singer. They report Gideon camps exist in several cities and plan to place 1000 Bibles in Atlanta hotels on the 17th and have 200000 Bibles already in hotels nationwide.
