Atlanta May 1 J L Dunn a young man is jailed on forgery charges. Chief Couch reports a Sedalia Mo telegram naming Dunn as wanted for forging 5400 and possibly for 2500 in New Orleans. Police link him to a mule shipment heist and anticipate exposing him as a major crook.
The American schooners Robert and Minnie are anchored at Catalina Harbor with a cargo of arms and ammunition for Chilean insurgents. Owned in San Francisco, they reportedly departed for Eureka on California's northern coast.
A Berlin dispatch reports the Kaiser toasted the Austrian and Italian military attaches five times each at a recent dinner, drinking vessels empty after each toast. His remarks were incoherent and left a painful impression.
