The Interborough Consolidated Railway Corporation, holding company for most Manhattan subway elevated and surface lines, was placed in the hands of a receiver. James R. Sheffield was appointed by Federal Judge Mayer to manage the company.
Pensacola scene reports two student officers at the naval station killed when their hydroplane crashed into the bay this afternoon. An Associated Press despatch notes the two men were J. A. Cate and K. J. Hammond with undetermined addresses.
Miss Orphelia Fielding, fifty, died yesterday at her parents home in Farmington Georgia. Funeral this afternoon at 3 from Farmington Methodist Church conducted by Rev J R Jordan.
