Purim or the Feast of Lots will be celebrated next Tuesday with synagogue services focusing on the Book of Esther. The day marks Mordecai's victory over Haman and includes social hall gatherings in many cities. The rabbi Dr. Hirsch will announce the special subject for the services at the local synagogue.
In the Masonic Temple last night the Knights Templar of Godfrey de Bouillon Commandery elected officers. W. F. Dorasy was chosen Eminent Commander, with W. C. Jordan captain general and W. A. Capps generalissimo. Paul Palmer and others were reappointed to key posts as the group noted the departure of H. H. Brand for Augusta to take a steamship company position.
Manager Stone secured the feature Sim presenting the inauguration of President Wilson. This is the second Georgia showing after yesterday in Atlanta. The exhibit received strong audience praise. Also playing today are Miss De Vann in song and the Man From Mexico. Fresh vegetables offered by Arnold and Abney include beets tomatoes celery lettuce squash cabbage and potatoes with prompt delivery and a phone number for orders.
Voters will decide next Tuesday on a one hundred thousand dollar school bond to expand the city public schools and a separate seventy five thousand dollar street improvement bond. Officials say the funds will be spent to remodel enlarge and build new classrooms and to improve nearly all streets without raising taxes, urging citizens to vote for both measures for Athens future.
Col. F. C. Shackelford left this morning for Gainesville to appear in a further hearing in the Carr, Boyd & Co. bankrupt case. The hearing before Referee W. B. Sloan concerns the sale of some property of the bankrupts.

Augusta March 21 Ty Cobb arrives in Athens to play the Red and Black versus Cobb's All Star from Royston at Sanford Field. Tickets 50 cents, game at 3 pm with Nep Rucker possibly present, a lively crowd expected in fair weather as Cobb limits remarks this visit.

A faculty declared holiday at the University of Georgia allows a morning field day at Sanford Field starting at ten o’clock. Events include sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, and a relay with limited entries from each class. No admission. strong turnout anticipated. Cobb may join the 100 yard dash if timely.
Easter Sunday services planned at Emmanuel Church with Holy Communion at 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Morning Service choir, an Easter sermon, Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., and a 4:00 p.m. Children's Easter Festival. Offerings support missions. Music includes a rich liturgical program led by Choir Master R. L. Ayers and Rector Troy Beatty.

A patrolman heard cries near midnight from the First Baptist church and, entering the dark building, found twelve year old Elliott boy sleeping peacefully in a pew during choir practice. The boy had wandered inside, slept through rehearsal, and woke to find himself locked in until police rescued him.
In Athens, Judge Emory Speer reflected on youth lessons during a Mercer law lecture in Macon. He said the mistake of youth was not making friends and stressed knowing people beyond the elite. The talk came amid ongoing contempt-of-court actions tied to ex-Mayor Huff over a lengthy critical letter to the judge.
Last night at the home of Dr and Mrs Andrew M Soule the senior class of this year at the State College of Agriculture was entertained at supper. The thirteen members enjoyed the evening with music cordial social time and a delicious supper.
Mr and Mrs Charles N Weatherly announce the marriage of their daughter Adeline to Mr G Lombard Kelly of Oxford North Carolina. The ceremony was performed at the bride s parents home by Rev C C Jarrell in front of relatives and intimate friends. The couple will reside in Oxford where Kelly teaches Greek and German at Horner College. Mrs Weatherly Kelly, formerly Adeline Weatherly, is described as very attractive and widely liked.
