Mrs. Fannie Pocock of Athens sustained a back strain when four Dixie Flyer coaches derailed near Bon Aire twenty three miles south of Macon. Five passengers were seriously hurt and transported to Macon hospitals. track cleared by noon. The incident occurred as the train rounded a curve at about twenty five miles per hour. a broken rail is cited as the cause. Mrs Pocock was taken to Williams sanatorium in Macon for treatment.

Last night at about 10 30 the Fire Department responded to a fire alarm from box eighteen at a Water street house owned by Pauline Cline. The unoccupied dwelling stored about three thousand dollars worth of furniture. Fire originated in a closet, extinguished but caused heavy damage. Before team could return, the same alarm sounded and the first building burned beyond salvage. Loss total with no insurance on house or contents.
