Griffin Bank President Faces Misdemeanor Charges in Clarke County
Yesterday Judge J F Foster heard five misdemeanor charges against J W Griffin President of the Athens Trust and Banking Company for alleged improper bank funds loans. Bond set at 3750 total with other officers present including S Bernstein and Leroy Hart. The court tentatively continued the preliminary hearing to March 28 with the felony case scheduled for 2 15 p m that day.

Mrs. T. A. Adams Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. T. A. Adams of this city died at about 9 p.m. Sunday at age 87 on Oconee street after a long illness. The funeral service was held yesterday with J. Audley Morton J. A. Hodgson and J. M. Hodgson in attendance. Songs included Safe In the Arms of Jesus and Abide With Me. Pallbearers were H. J. Rowe R. K. Reeves H. B. Palmer J. M. Hodgson H. H. Linton and M. G. Michael. She was remembered as a kindly, devout woman whose faith inspired many.
