Public notices urge all unregistered citizens to register at city hall today with Tax Collector Linton in the mayor's office. Yesterday morning about seven, Frank Bramblett a well known city resident aged 36 to 38 leaped into the Oco nee River. Charlie Bridges heard the cry for help and saved him near the river bank. Police were alerted and Bramblett was taken to city headquarters then home as doctors attended him. His condition was precarious last night.

Yesterday morning at 4 oclock Mrs T N Rhodes died at her son A S Rhodes home in Lynwood Park after months of frail health. She was 84, a longtime church member and last daughter of Rev Enoch Calloway of Wilkes County. Her husband died in 1909. Survived by three daughters and five sons including A S Rhodes Emma Hicks Laura Cox Mattie Lynch R C Rhodes P M Rhodes R L Rhodes W Rhodes and many grandchildren. Burial followed in College Park with Rev W Colquit to conduct services.
Letter from Frank A. Lipscomb, temporary receiver for Athens Trust and Banking Co., disputes a Banner auditor’s report claim that deposits totaling 49000 could be paid off for 25000 in cash. He states deposits include notes and credits, expects full recovery, and efforts continue to collect all money due.
