Georgia Land & Loan Co buys large timber tract near Athens

The Georgia Land and Loan Company, Glenn Borough manager, with offices in the Shackelford building, has purchased one thousand acres of fine timber land in Oglethorpe county. This is among the largest timber bodies near Athens. The company plans to saw and deliver the timber to Athens by truck, improve the lands, subdivide them, and place farm lands on the market.

Hutchins Joins Emory Hospital Unit in Atlanta

Mr J C Hutchins Jr son of local residents left yesterday to join the Emory base hospital unit in Atlanta. Buck Patterson of Cartersville also joined the same organization. The unit includes sons of prominent state families and will comprise 153 men at Camp Gordon with 100 trained nurses to sail for France.
