Richey, a former Gainesville contractor in sheet metal, were brought from Gastonia North Carolina and buried at Alta Vista cemetery after a four o'clock service at the residence. He was 45, joined the Methodist church as a youth, and is survived by his sister Mrs. Tom Adair of Athens.

Sea Monster Sinks High School Swimmer in Florida Waters
In St Petersburg Dorothy McClathie, a high school swimming star, was fatally bitten by a barracuda while swimming a mile off the Municipal pier. Isa Mary Buhner towed the injured girl for over half a mile before cries reached help. A boat brought her to the pier but she died before land. The barracuda, described as a West Indies and Florida menace, is noted as potentially six feet long and dangerous.
