Woman shot by Birnfield in Birmingham tragedy
Mrs. W A Van Houser was shot by Birchnell, an electrician, at her home on South Twentieth Street in Birmingham. She died after a bullet wound to the abdomen. Birchnfield then shot himself in the chest and died. The event followed alleged fixation on the widow. police faced a locked door and a long entry.
