In Norfolk a raid on the naval transport Sirius resulted in the arrest of the commanding officer and several crew. A Navy investigation under Admiral Andrews will probe the incident as approximately a thousand quarts of whiskey were found being unloaded for shipment to a naval supply station. The Sirius had recently returned from the West Indies and was at the Hampton Roads navy yard.

County Engineer Nicholain states that grading on the Athens to Oconee line Princeton road will start Tuesday. County Board members Nicholson and Hodgson visited Atlanta for a final Federal Highway Board conference.
