Opposition to registration subsiding in Georgia
Atlanta reports federal and state officials see opposition to the June military registration diminishing. Investigations traced talks against registration to individuals by county, with records filed to deter further trouble. A LaGrange circulated letter urged county officers to pressure governor and Adjutant General, but legal opinion cautions it may not violate the draft act. Governor Harris condemns the circular and warns avoidance will breach law once boards are chosen.
