Runaway Surrey Crisis Ends With Child Safe
Yesterday on Lumpkin Street a seven-child surrey driven by Mrs. Dan Martin swerved near a curb as a horse pulled by Miss Gertrude Martin balked at a telephone line pulley. Fiveyearold daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Powell was thrown from the vehicle and tangled in the wheel. The girl was spun briefly but unhurt according to a physician, who later found possible internal injuries unlikely to be serious. The brave young driver kept the horse under control until it halted.

Holders of Central Railway Stock Plan Big Issue of Bonds
Savannah Ga June 4 stockholders of the Central of Georgia railroad authorized a 15 million dollar 6 percent cumulative preferred stock issue and called a July 8 meeting to authorize refinancing and improvement bonds to liquidate existing indebtedness. A hearing by the state railroad commission on June 20 is planned to sanction the issue. Directors ratified the action and John Bell resigned as secretary of the Central, also resigning as assistant secretary of the Ocean Steamship Company at the next directors meeting.
