Quiet Times in Old Georgia in July Campaign
In Atlanta Georgia July political notes detail a slow campaign with Hoke Smith delaying speeches until late July or early August. Judge Hart plans to leave the attorney general post, while governors Brown and Smith set up informal headquarters and campaigns may be run by friends rather than the candidates. Labor records are being checked for candidates, and a Watson Howell misstatement from 1906 is recalled with denials pending.
