The permanent executive committee met yesterday at five in the Y M C A hall to plan spring meetings led by Dr Len G. Broughton. They adjourned to six with Dr Stoughton for a conference and noted cotton holds require Moss warehouse for crowd capacity.
Seaboard lowers passage rates to Atlanta due to Ben Hur at the performance venue and Henry W. Savage's English Grand Opera. English Grand Opera tickets go on sale January 17 1905 and Ben Hur tickets January 20 1905. All passes allow continuous two way travel with a one day limit after sale date. Rates cover all points between Atlanta and Elberton.
Mr. Park Hosey of this city, long with the Southern Express Company, has been transferred to Tuskegee Alabama where he will hold an important position. His many friends extend best wishes for success in the new role.

The Rome Herald quotes the Oglethorpe county planter as entering the contest after shifting his farming and business to allow two years of public service. Born in Wilkes county 65 years ago, he is praised as a practical farmer and steadfast Democrat with a record of helping others.

The Athens Empire Laundry announces a new steam mangle and dryer aimed at handling all linen types. The machine promises no wear or stain to fine linens, large capacity enabling lower prices, and will be in operation within 30 days. Housekeepers are invited to view the mammoth device once installed.
Erwin Vonderan of this city, son of Alderman Vonderan, will depart next week for Havana to head Coca Cola Company operations there. A skilled Spanish speaker and University of Georgia senior, he accepted an Atlanta based offer to become Havana representative, leaving his graduation plans behind for immediate duties.
The new officers of the Royal Arcanum in this city have been installed and the order is flourishing. Oconee Council prepares to entertain Grand Regent J A Peacock after the 15th of this month as he makes rounds of visitation to lodge sessions here.
