The 24 year old machinist Stephen Bolton was found dead in a buggy behind a garage on West Main Street Lexington. Coroner's inquest returns verdict of death from cerebral hemorrhage with burial planned in Richmond. Bolton was brother of Mrs J M Bruce and resident at 353 North Limestone Street.

Trial Set for Tobe Mayfield on Assault Charge

This morning Judge C Z Young will preside over the trial of Tobe Mayfield a grown Negro charged with criminally assaulting an eight year old girl of his race. The incident is said to have occurred in the Jester Building on Clayton Street where Mayfield working with other men cleaning rooms for the Manhattan Shirt factory lured the child to a lower room and attacked her. Fellow workers on the floor above testified after observing via cracks in the floor.
