In a society page note Mrs. Alice Adams reports a Washington's birthday theme luncheon by the Woman's Club. Attendees admired colonial decorations and read papers on colonial subjects. Several anecdotes from Old Histories at the Fireside and a future Banner feature are promised.
Dr John P Campbell presents the third lecture in a series at First Baptist Church in the Sunday school room on February 23. The Atlanta Congress of Mothers sponsors the free women only event with admission cards available at the door for remaining lectures. The article also contains a letter seeking club support for Tallulah Falls Industrial School from Athens readers.
Miss Lucy Hoke Smith hosted a luncheon at the New Willard yesterday in honor of her Atlanta house guest Miss Annie Lee McKenzie. The Georgia State Normal School team travels from Athens to Woodberry for a basketball game at Wesley Memorial courts Friday at 8 p.m. Admission is 25 cents. Woodberry lineup lists Evelyn Thompson manager right guard Thelma Wright left guard Mabel Montsalvatge right forward Julia Pratt left forward Rosalie Davis center Elizabeth Dorough side center.
The convention will be held in Athens on Wednesday the 28th. The meeting is called by the District Convention of the Sixteenth Division of Odd Fellows.
