A delighted note highlights Friday the thirteenth rarely landing on Leap Year. It playfully warns of common superstitions like walking under ladders and crossed paths with a black cat, urging cautious steps amid the odd date.
Dr George Stewart delivered a lecture on the Holy Scriptures noting that Jesus taught by word and by his followers and that the Epistles were earliest writings. He argued the 66 books form the authorised library and dismissed Bachlyn debates on authorship as irrelevant to spiritual revelations. The final Sacraments lecture was to follow at 9 40 a m with Stewart praised for sincerity and conviction.
Funeral services are to be held today at 3 oclock for Jutson Huff at Betreat Methodist Church in Athens. Listed pallbearers include Gow Spates Pr avkadees D. D Bettree Seen Walter Maront and Har Pook Dye.
President Wilson faces union leaders from over two million railroad workers who seek instant relief from rising living costs or, failing that, higher wages. A Washington report from February 12 cites a detailed casualty tally for Southern states in World War I. Georgia shows a total of 1,690 deaths and 1,143 other casualties, with breakdowns across killed in action, deaths from wounds, diseases, and other causes. The nine Southern states suffered 37,266 casualties out of 302,612 nationwide.
United States Senator Poindexter of Washington told the Utica Republican club that a sinister policy underlies the Lebor Plan. He charged a small coterie of labor leaders with plotting a government within the government to secure a president favorable to their policies.
Charles Marshall, alleged killer of four Miller family members near Armory on January 16, was moved under military guard to Aberdeen for a preliminary hearing tonight.
Levi Freeman, 55, died after a four year illness at his home near Jefferson. He was a successful farmer and well regarded by many friends. Survived by his wife and several children. A funeral was held yesterday at 3:00 PM at Galilee Christian Church, of which he was a member.
Atlanta February 12. Due to the spread of influenza, the American Red Cross nurses not yet engaged in private duty are ordered by headquarters to drop private nursing except in life and death cases and report for assignment to locations with urgent nursing needs.
Paris reports to the committee of foreign affairs that the German army remains about 400000 strong. The update notes 100000 police forces plus officers and non commissioned officers, with Germany equipped with tanks machine guns and airplanes.
L. K. Bethime of Payo was elected president, the highest honor, at a recent University association meeting. Other officers include Gitows as vice president, W. K. Rivers, Validea Ka wrastiant, T W Hill, and Stateahoro as secretary-treasurer.
Plans are perfected for a triangular debate among Vanderbilt, Alabama and Georgia. Debaters will be chosen from the student body at large.

The Normal school student body staged an Americanization pageant with a pre banquet Mor ris Orchestra performance. Chancellor Barrow gave a blessing and Dr J M Pound spoke after the banquet. Miss Mary Christian acted as interpreter while D Meyer led the event and the hall was decorated with a large Georgia seal and red, white, and blue bands.

Howell C. Parks aged sixty three dies with funeral today at Tresidente Jones Avenue at 6 o clock. Paroral services will be held at Feura Vista church Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment follows. Survived by wife Mrs Sal, ten daughters Abte Watkins Lucy Parks, ten sons Parks and Andrew Parks.
Grand Rapids. William McKeighton, former Flint mayor, testified in the Newberry elections conspiracy trial that Richard Fletcher warned him the state court would reverse his assault and robbery conviction if he supported Tru man Newberry in the primary. McKeighton said he backed Newberry and his sentence was reversed, noting politics is funny and he took no chances.
The funeral for Professor E A Luster, 71, who died of heart disease at 6:00 A M, will be held today at his daughter Mrs H O Epting’s Cloverhurst Ave residence at 11 AM. He leaves a brother J O Luster of Blacksburg and sisters Mrs C R Hawkins and Mrs Y Johns of Newport News and Mira Lucien Brugh of Nage. He was well known for a notable invention and valued as a Christian and educated gentleman. The pallbearers include P Ingram, 21 Poult, 1 Awtry, Cooper, VO Scott, J H Epico Bolton, and Harold Tuck. Dr J W Lynch of the First Baptist Church will officiate.
Washington notes indicate little progress in negotiations over the new Article 10 reservation. Republican leaders faced limited Democratic support, with about thirty who could be counted to back the measure and estimates suggesting thirty-four Democrats might desert the party upon ratification.

Edward Reginald Hodgson Sr. known as Mr. Prince died at home after years of blindness. A longtime trustee and early force behind Athens founding of a major institution he helped guide its growth for a quarter century before resigning in 1910. He also served on the Athens Board of Education and supported the Rabun Gap Industrial School project.
