Fifteen arrests were made by Athens police Thursday night during an action against motorists driving with no lights or rear illumination. Officers, at the Prince Avenue intersection, warned owners that penalties would follow with court actions if violations continued.

Majoy W. Luberbon of the Texas National Guard faced a murder charge in Wichita Falls on a January shooting. The target, M. L. Lamar, a musician, was at the door when a brief conversation preceded the shooting. Lamar posted $12,500 bond and the case involves Alvin M. Owsley Sr., noted as a father of a national Legion leader.
