Stole Pistols From Athens Hardware Company
Thieves broke into the Athens Hardware Company at dawn and stole about three hundred dollars worth of pistols. Police suspect insiders hid in the large building and escaped after unlocking the doors. Twenty two pistols, mostly high priced, were taken. this marks the fourth recent burglary targeting pistols.

Rylee Dies After Long Illness at Athens Residence
J. B. Rylee, a longtime resident who moved from Bogart to Athens, died yesterday at 9 am after a period of failing health. He lived with his daughter Mrs. B S Martin and leaves a wife five sons and three daughters. Funeral services will be held in Bogart at 1 pm today with Rev W S Walker of Monroe officiating. An earlier son, H C Rylee of Oklahoma, died a month ago aged 32. Burial will follow at the old Rylee family ground. Many will attend the Bogart ceremony and interment.
