National call to guard migratory birds under federal law
New York reports a united push by sportsmen ornithologists and agricultural authorities to back the Weeks bill. They seek federal custody of migratory birds, with the Agriculture Department setting closed seasons across inter state routes. Endorsements come from the American Ornithologists Union and the New York Association for the Protection of Game as guards against extinction.
