Tonight Dupree Hall hosts the Clarke Rifles Kronia event at the new armory. The old Grecian fete themed night features costumed locals including Buster the Newlyweds Hooligan and many others, with a prize drill and military call. The EW armory offers a top floor for a grand dance and a memorable evening.

Oconee council No. 138 Royal Arcanum elected officers for the coming year including Lee Morris as regent and M. Jankower as secretary. Ninety members are active with ten new applications. A welfare warrant was issued to aid Mrs. Valentine Dunaway after her husband’s death protecting her family of ten children.
The incorporators of the Black Mammy Memorial Association plan to organize this afternoon at 5 in Judge Strickland's office. The group, including educators, businessmen, professionals, and philanthropists from Athens and other Georgia cities, aims to build a Black Mammy Memorial Industrial Institute for teaching manual and service arts and literacy to colored youth. Prof. S F Harris will be principal. Prominent Athens citizens back the project as a monument to loyal women of the African American community during war and reconstruction.
George E. Rice of Flowery Branch takes second prize in a DuPont Powder essay contest on stump removal by explosives. First prize went to TiBL Rast, a senior at the college, with a $100 award announced by the faculty yesterday.
The First Baptist Church ladies Missionary society will hold its regular monthly meeting this afternoon at four o'clock. Members and prospective members are urged to attend as important business will be discussed. Mrs. W. E. Foster of Lexington is visiting Mrs. Charlie Chandler.
Census figures place Clarke County over 20 000 population earning it an extra representative and a special bailiff in both city and superior courts. Solicitor General Upson of Athens confirms plans to appoint a special bailiff with county approval, funded by the county treasury.
Voluntary contributions continue to rise as readers respond to the Banner appeal detailing the deaths of the father and husband. The list shows multiple donors and a total of 439.52 after earlier receipts, with more to come as the fund grows.
Fred Hall, a white man, was held after a preliminary examination before United States Commissioner Judge Walter G. Cornett on charges of robbing the Litch post office in Greene county. In default of a $1000 bond he was committed to Clarke County jail to await trial at the next term of the United States court. The accusation says Hall burglarized the Litch store containing the post office, taking hats, shoes, other merchandise, and $1.35 in money, plus postal cards and pennies from the post office area.
Henry Martin of Clarke County pays officers fifteen dollars to arrest his wife Clyde Martin who is jailed on a larceny warrant sworn by her husband. Police nabbed Clyde at Commerce and she remains in jail awaiting charge. Henry stated she took all his money and left him.
A Black man named Jake Smith fled Oconee county after allegedly firing through a door and wounding three men during a dispute at a Watkinsville area gathering. A posse pursued him for twelve miles to Bogart, then he disappeared, with authorities believing he boarded a southbound freight to Atlanta. Residents described a volatile scene and a large gathering of Black residents present at the time.
Georgia University starts exams today, with no regular classes in most departments until after the Christmas holidays. Exams run through December 24, occupying the full schedule and altering the daily routine for students and faculty.
The funeral for John R. Christy was held yesterday at his residence with Rev. George E. Stone and Rev. S R. England leading services. The choir sang Nearer My God to Thee and Judge Geo C. Thomas delivered a tribute to the deceased before interment at Oconee cemetery.
The body of Jesse Smith twelve year old son of Mr and Mrs Robert L Smith was killed in the enemy attack this morning on the Seaboard train en route to the old home place. A large group of friends will join the funeral procession.

The production featured pleasing costumes elaborate scenery and a memorable Arcady is ever young chorus finale and the curtain closer My Mother by Doody lingered in theatergoers minds. The Arcadians could return to Athens to another splendid reception.
