Athens approves rail franchise plan through city streets
Last night the mayor and council passed on the petition of the Atlanta and Carolina Railway for city franchises. Murder of Atlanta Officer Manier by Negro Named Black Sport
Ex Sergeant J A Manier of the Atlanta police was shot dead on Peters Street near Hayne by a negro known as Black Sport Andrew Johnson. The suspect fired as Manier attempted to arrest him. bystanders captured the gun and turned the suspect over to authorities. Manier lived at 31 East Fair Street and was highly regarded on the force.

College student disappears from University of Georgia
