Twenty five Oconee county citizens from Watkinsville Farmington Bishop and Apalachee met Athens Chamber of Commerce directors to urge endorsement of a state logged route from Athens to Macon via Madison Monticello and Milledgeville. They argued the route serves four towns with favorable grades and crossstreams and would be a direct shorter main artery and better for through auto traffic. The delegation thanked the chamber and urged ongoing cooperation to keep the route.
