Hammack Traced to Improper House Trial

Yesterday afternoon H T Hammack, a white man about forty, was tried before Judge J F Foster on charges of keeping an improper house on College avenue. Witnesses testified the place had a bad reputation while Hammack denied it. The judge released him on his own bond without security after attorneys agreed to postpone argument until this morning, over Solicitor Tribble’s objection. The court will hear final arguments and decide if he should be bound over.
