Clodfeller, 24, is recovering in a local hospital.
Washington Aug 7 The Navy Yard Philadelphia will host a new aircraft factory costing about 4 million dollars. Secretary Daniels ordered its construction claiming completion in 100 days. The plant will employ 2,000 workers and produce up to 1,000 planes.

Interstate Commerce Commission returns for June show railroads with net revenue over 88 million dollars. About 150 roads operating three fourths of the nation's mileage reported a nearly eight million dollar gain from June last year, with Southern railroads showing a large increase.
The treasury's November issue of 300 million dollars in certificates of indebtedness maturing November 15 was largely oversubscribed as subscriptions closed today marking the first financing under the projected second Liberty Bond offering.
A telegram reports the death of Frank Potter of this city from a fall from train No. 11, 31 miles north of Monroe, while returning from Carp ing. The 28 year old Brooklyn native had lived in Athens 12 years with Michael Brothers. He was a respected merchant and beloved husband. The body was sent to Wadesboro for burial preparations and due in Athens later today.
Athens reports a meeting of Oconee citizens at Eastville to protest the draft act. After an inflammatory speech by Col Kelley of Lawrenceville, funds were raised for the Watson Resisting Fund to hire lawyers to oppose conscription.
A vast convoy passed through Athens yesterday with a long line of horses, motor trucks, ambulances, and cars carrying airplanes. The train of modern army equipment, en route from the Border north, was reported to move on after noon with no disclosed destination and no German raid occurred.

Messrs J Denny and W D Gar land arrived by car from Atlanta last night in the popular Packard Twenty-six driven by Mr Denny. Despite roads and rain they made record time and gained many friends in Athens who will be pleased to see them.
