In Atlanta August 1 Representative Brown of Clarke county pushed a judiciary measure allowing City Court of Athens defendants to demand indictments. The Brown Bale Wheatley plan to raise superior court judge salaries from 3000 to 5000 dollars for Athens Rome and Americus passed the senate and house with amendments and goes to the governor. A State Normal School appropriation of 100000 dollars was placed on the calendar for tomorrow with 50000 for a dormitory and 50000 for an academic building.

The German submarine Deutschland sailed from Baltimore on August 1 with crude rubber nickel and possibly gold, towed by the tug Thomas F. Timmins. Capt. Campus event blends rhythm dance and colors at Georgia
On a Georgia campus yesterday afternoon hundreds of students, citizens, and visiting Georgia State Agricultural Society members watched a program of York dances, games, plays, and drills from 5 to 6. Miss Nona Miller led the Procession as Queen of the Play Time. Performances included Danish Dance of Greeting, Hickory Dickory Dock, Vineyard Dance, Bean Porridge, Ace of Diamond, Swiss May Dance, How Do You Do, a Schottische and Polka series, and athletic events though a tug of war was canceled when poles broke.

Pony Killed After Auto Crash on Milledge Avenue
The big automobile of Mr. W. J. Peeples driven by a colored chauffeur struck the pony team of Mr. John T. Anderson near Mr. Darwin's residence on Milledge Avenue about 8 30 last night. The pony was killed the buggy shattered and Mr. Anderson thrown to the pavement suffering two broken ribs and other injuries. Peeples halted the car and arranged medical aid then took Mr. Anderson home where he rested well. The collision occurred as both vehicle and team moved toward the business district.
