United States Weather Bureau forecast through 7 p.m. Saturday notes fair conditions for Athens and vicinity and Georgia with tonight and Saturday generally fair. Beneficial showers were reported in the eastern cotton belt with several stations over an inch. Mobile recorded 3.72 inches. Showers extended north into the Ohio valley and lake region. A Minnesota center low pressure indicates fair west of the Mississippi except extreme northwest where improving. Temperatures drop into the 30s in the west with snow in parts of the Dakotas and Colorado.
