The Athens council approved granolithic sidewalks on Barber Street from Prince Avenue to the Boulevard and graded sidewalks on South Lumpkin Street to Milledge Avenue. Flames Break Out in Denmark Hall
Fire swept the lower story of Denmark Hall known as The Beanery at about 2:30 am yesterday. The blaze originated from a range and burned through the floor before the fire brigade contained it. Upper dormitory floors were spared and damage is estimated at about $100.

Georgia youth enter state fair corn and cotton contests
About 2,600 Georgia boys and girls are farming roughly one acre each in corn and cotton clubs. Since a January Farmers Conference, 40 counties organized with help from the State College of Agriculture and Dr Seamann Knapp. county exhibits, livestock, chickens, hogs are planned with prizes totaling $200 per crop plus county and state awards. State College offers $75 per winner, and 2,500 youths work toward county and state contests culminating at Macon State Fair.
