New York April 2 Liverpool cotton futures expected to fall initially by 1 to 2 points with later slight fluctuations. Spot demand strong with middling at 7.21 and sales at 32 000 bales, including 10 300 American. imports total 24 000 bales, 21 000 American. Tone remains steady through midday.
Market reports show corn rising on bullish Argentina shipments expected to North America in April and May. Kansas City and Omaha receipts pressured prices before closing steady with a 12 cent gain. oats stayed firm amid dull trading. Provisions gained with hogs and grain as wet weather delayed planting.
Chicago April 2 Export sales at Omaha boosted wheat futures to a stronger tone after a weak start. Predictions of light world shipments contrasted with higher Northwestern stocks and a gradual rise from opening lows. Rain in the western Dakotas and reports of infestations in Oklahoma supported the market, preventing a sharp setback.
The cotton market opened steady in New York with a 1 to 3 point range and favorable Liverpool demand via private cables. Morning buying and renewed covering lifted prices 10 to 15 points before midday, then eased. spot houses remained active, and middling closed near 13.40 to 13.00 cents per pound with a very steady tone.
New Orleans April 2 Improved weather conditions steadied the cotton market after a small early setback. First prices were unchanged to 2 points down before scattered buying lifted values. By noon the market was 9 to 12 points higher with middling at 12 cents as spot interest grew in July.

She led the paper for over a decade promoting Clarkesville Haber sham county and North Georgia before illness forced her to retire. Funeral will be in Milledgeville with survivors including her mother three sisters and a brother the Rev C L Bass.
