Death of W M Helmick Athena Resident
William McHenry Helmick died after a long illness at his daughter's home in Athena. He was born August 26 1833 in Pickaway County Ohio and lived in Vermilion and Taylor counties before moving to Athens in 1890. He married Jane Barr in 1859. seven children were born, six daughters and one son. He served in the 4th Iowa Volunteers and died after strokes in 1918, with funeral conducted by Rev. D M Helwick.
