Portland Business Men to Visit Athena for Day Events

President Gillis of the Commercial Association will host Portland businessmen arriving by special train October 19 at 10 10 am for 40 minutes. The party, en route to Lewiston Clarkston fair, will partake in Portland day exercises October 20. A reception committee will escort them downtown and arrange entertainment. meeting Tuesday seeks strong attendance.

Census Shows Mild Rise in Umatilla County Population

The state census counted 18 088 residents in Umatilla County last spring a rise of 39 from 1900 figures. Indians on the reservation were not counted due to illness of a deputy, and the tally was only completed yesterday.
