Oregon Normal School President censured by state board
The Oregon Board of Higher Education censured Monmouth Normal School President J L Landers in an all day meeting in Salem. The board accepted most of a committee report on incompetence and mismanagement, but rejected the resignation plan for September 8 1932, instead striking that portion. The seven page report cited errors in judgment and misleading certifications regarding student coursework. committee chair Mrs Walter M Pierce and members Albert Burch and C L Starr supported the findings and resignation. The motion to delete the resignation acceptance passed after extant rebuttals from Landers.
