Receivers Take Over Central Railway Of Oregon
The Central Railway Company of Oregon operating between Hot Lake and La Grande via Unida and Diego to Elgin is placed in receivership owned by Chester V. Dolph and Henry S. Bertiean after American Trust Company of Boston filed a complaint alleging interest on 600000 dollars in bonds has not been paid since January 1 1907. The U S Supreme Court denied Wilfred N. Jones and Thadend S. Potter a writ of review. they were Oregon residents sentenced for defrauding the government by illegal entry of land under the Homestead law. The decision upholds the lower court verdict. The Supreme Court semiannual term is in Pendleton this week with Horseman murder case among those argued. Milton moves to create a city park in coordination with the Women’s Civic Club to press the council for action.
