Democratic Night Meeting in Athena Draws Crowd

Defense of state government form and judge’s salary dispute

Helix man under arrest for wheat theft from Puget Sound warehouse

Roy Blake, a young man from near Helix, is jailed on a charge of stealing four sacks of wheat from Puget Sound warehouse in Helix. He waived preliminary hearing, held to circuit court under $750 bond, with further charges possible from Farmers Mutual warehouse and Northern Pacific freight yard. About 100 sacks reputed stolen. relatives seek bail appeals if possible. The case involves multiple local warehouses and the Northern Pacific railroad.
