To Kill Cayuses Near Castle Rock
Complaint by stockmen to the Oregon Domestic Animal Commission cites a large band of Indian ponies from the Umatilla reservation on the Columbia in Morrow county near Castle Rock and Coyote badly affected with mange. The commission orders Dr. William McLean of Portland to kill all affected horses with Sheriff Bhutt assisting to prevent interference. The sheriff departed for the scene and will be absent several days.

Stockmen Rescue Starving Range Herd Amid Winter Snow
Charles Brotherton returned from Gibbon with a car load of hay to feed cattle. He and Henry Hill drove 150 head to the range weeks ago, some grew weak as snow left none to eat for nearly a week. The herd strong enough was driven from the hills and fed, five men lifting weak stock and driving them to feed. Other stock men face heavy losses as starving cattle face fatal weather.

Treasury reports banks receive Panama funds in New York
