Dr. J. Darrin, a well known Pendleton physician, arrives June 14 at the Hotel Pendleton and will remain until July 17 to treat diseases with electricity and medicines. Two Men Wounded in Bridge Shooting Near Athena
Fred Heckman and C W Walter were wounded when Charles Hoffman shot at them near the Wild Eyes bridge just north of Athena. Heckman was seriously wounded but both men are expected to recover. Hoffman claimed the men robbed him of harness and saddles earlier, and the incident drew a large crowd at the Athena Hotel where doctors guided recovery.

Warehouse moved to clear track for new depot
Walla Walla man H Miller moved the Hamilton Rourke Co wheat warehouse across the W&O railroad track by Saturday morning and by Monday 4 p m it stood on its new site. A 40 foot addition will be built, making the 49 by 10 foot structure hold substantial grain. The move makes room for the new W&O railroad depot to be erected just north of the former site.

Mahaffey Released Not Guilty Jury Delivers Verdict
The East Oregonian reports Mahaffey was found not guilty after a circuit court trial. Witnesses including H Gueroney and Japanese witness Omotte testified on the defense and prosecution that day. Prosecution objections limited most cross examination as jurors pondered the case for 23 minutes before verdict.

The Pendleton Tribune reports the trial of Samuel Mahaffey begun at 10 a m for assault with a dangerous weapon on Melvin Green on May 11. Four witnesses testified with limited new light as Bowman, the arrested leading witness, claims Green aimed to provoke Mahaffey. Evidence included Dr G J Smith’s report and examinations of Green's injuries.
